Spice Islands Catering and Volcanoes Stadium Reach Agreement

Agreement includes series of $1.00 Food Nights!

Spice Islands Catering has become the new concessionaire caterer at Volcanoes Stadium. The company will handle the concessions and catering for all Stadium events, including the 39 Salem-Keizer Volcanoes games this summer.

Spice Islands Catering, headed by proprietor Jerry Crane, has catered events for numerous companies and organizations around the area: Portland General Electric, Northwest Natural Gas, Oregon State University, Keizer Rotary, the Teamsters, etc., just to name a few. Spice Islands Catering, a full-service caterer who was recently voted "The Best Caterer in Keizer, Oregon, has handled events ranging from gourmet, intimate dinner parties to an All You Can Eat Feast for over 9,000 people.

"We're excited about this opportunity to head the concession operations at Volcanoes Stadium," said Jerry Crane. "The Volcanoes are a highly respected and very successful organization that I am proud to be affiliated with. It is my goal to continue the high level of service and quality that has become synonymous with the Volcanoes. We'll keep the Stadium favorites such as the Killer Kielbasa and the Volcanoes' Burger and add some new items too that I'm sure fans will enjoy," concluded Crane.

Volcanoes' co-owner Jerry Walker said, "Jerry Crane and Spice Islands Catering has a proven and successful track record and will be an excellent concessionaire.

A major part of this new partnership is the offering of Discount Food Nights, with selected items being just $1.00. This will really be enjoyed and appreciated by our fans, especially during these economic times." "These special discount food nights will help keep the Volcanoes the best entertainment value in the valley," noted Walker.

Volcanoes' Family Feast Nights will make their debut during every Wednesday Volcanoes games. Wildly popular for many years at Avista Stadium in Spokane, home of the Spokane Indians, fans can enjoy $1.00 Hot Dogs, $1.00 Pop, and $1.00 Ice Cream Sandwiches during every Wednesday Night Volcanoes' Home Game! (Wednesday's June 30, July 14, July 21, July 28, August 11, August 18, August 25). Spokane has set the bar pretty high. They sell out all their tickets, in all seating areas, every time they have a Family Feast Night. Their record for hot dogs is 7,437 sold on a single Family Feast Night, 5,464 soda's, and 3,120 ice cream sandwiches. "I'd like to see if our fans can challenge or surpass those numbers," concluded Walker.

Seniors, 65 and over, will have a special "$1.00 Meal Deal" during every Sunday 5:05pm home game this season with their choice of a Hot Dog or a Hamburger along with a Soda for just $1.00 ! (Sunday's June 20, June 27, August 1, August 15 and September 5). In addition, $1.00 Thursday's will continue in 2010, where fans can purchase a select adult beverage for $1.00 in the Stadium's Lava Lodge during Thursday home games. (Thursday's June 17, July 15, July 22, July 29, August 12, August 26).

Spice Islands Catering will 'makes its debut' as the Volcanoes' caterer during the Volcanoes' upcoming 3rd Annual Sports Banquet to be held Friday, February 12, at the Keizer Community Center .
